Weight Loss Before And After
Are you preparing to begin a new weight loss program? There are a few things you should consider “before” you start that will get you to your goal where you can enjoy the “after.”
BEFORE Weight Loss
Have a friend snap some “before” pictures of you, they can be very motivating and inspirational.
- Wear a bathing suit or shorts and a tank top.
- Show as much of your body shape as possible.
- Wear a dark outfit against a light colored background.
- Ensure you have sufficient lighting.
Repeat your photo session every 6 weeks and compare your photographs each time with your “before” photos to check your progress.
Weight Loss Tips To Get Started
- Identify And Write Down Your Weight Loss Goal - Why do you want to lose weight? How much weight and by what date? WRITE everything down and commit to your success.
- Make A Plan - What steps will you take to lose weight? What junk foods will you eliminate? What exercises will you perform (and when) to burn more calories?
- Track Your Progress - Use a food journal and training log to record the foods you eat, your training sessions, your weekly weight loss and measurements. Update your photos every 4-6 weeks and compare them with your “before” photos.
- Celebrate Successes - When you reach weekly and monthly goals, reward yourself, but be careful of food rewards.
- Stick To Your Eating Plan - Reduce or eliminate the junk food, fried food and fast food and replace them with clean, whole, natural and nutritional foods. Practice portion control and don’t starve yourself. Drink more water.
- Find Support - Find friends, family or coworkers who actually support your weight loss program and share your goals and successes with them. Surround yourself with motivated people.
AFTER Weight Loss
After your weight loss, you are still the same person, but leaner and with better health and much more energy to do the things you love. But there are things you will need to do to maintain your weight loss:
- Make Healthy Choices - Don't go back to your old eating habits after weight loss or you will quickly add the weight back. Don’t become a yo-yo dieter. You need to make a lifestyle change and continue your healthy eating habits and avoid rebound weight gain.
- Continue To Monitor Your Weight - Get on that scale once a week and continue to monitor your weight on a regular, consistent basis.
- Continue To Exercise - Maintain the program that got you where you are.
- Enjoy The Benefits Of Your Weight Loss - You will be leaner, meaner and probably happier after reaching your weight loss goal. You will also be more confident, smile more, stand taller and have a higher self esteem. Your social life will improve and you will have made new friends who are also dieting or training in the gym.
